Mount Compass is about an hour’s drive south of Adelaide, on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. If you want to do a day trip to the Compass Cup, see transport options below.

Of if you want to make the most of what the region has to offer, why not stay a night or two?… Surrounded by rolling hills, Mount Compass is an authentic rural hub, where you will find a bounty of local produce, ranging from Strawberries & Blueberries, to Cheese, Marron, Pheasants and Venison – keep an eye out for roadside signs pointing to seasonal farm gates sales! Just 15 minutes from Mount Compass is the McLaren Vale wine region and historic township of Willunga – why not take in a trip to the Willunga Markets before coming to the Cup, or spend a day exploring some of the 60 cellar doors, tasting award winning wines and sampling some of the region’s finest produce!

If you are looking for a seaside escape, why not consider staying along the Fleurieu Peninsula’s mid coast, at towns such as Aldinga Beach, Port Willunga or Moana? Or head further south to the seaside town of Victor Harbor, just 20 minutes south of Mount Compass.

Transport Options

By Car

Travel South on Main South Road (A13) until you see the Southern Expressway. Jump on the Expressway (if its open) or continue along Main South Road. For those that did get on the Expressway, you will rejoin Main South Road at Old Noarlunga. After Old Noarlunga, via LEFT onto Victor Harbor Road (heading towards McLaren Vale & Victor Harbor). Continue along Victor Harbor Road until you reach the town of Mount Compass (approx. 24km from turn off).

By Coach
